Carnegie Council Launches Year of Programming on Sustainability

Sustainability MonthCarnegie Council's second annual SEPTEMBER SUSTAINABILITY MONTH launches a full year of sustainability programming, September 2010 to June 2011, with generous funding from Hewlett-Packard and Booz & Company.

Eco Innovations: Small Sparks, Big Impact (with live webcast) How do innovations make it to the market to have significant impact on societal sustainability? Monday, September 13, 2010 12:00–2:00 PM EST Three leading inventors: Shakeel Avadhany of Levant Power; sustainable architect Rick Cook of Cook+Fox Architects; and Senior Researcher Peter Hartwell of HP labs. Niko Canner of Booz & Company will moderate.

Leading by Example (with live webcast) How are the armed forces stepping forward to combat climate change and improve the U.S. energy posture? Wednesday, September 22, 2010 12:00–2:00 PM EST Colonel Bob "Brutus" Charette, Jr. (USMC); Rear Admiral Philip Cullom (USN); David M. King, director of energy policy within the office of the deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Air Force (Energy, Environment, Safety and Occupational Health). Jonathan Powers, chief operating officer of the Truman National Security Project.
