Winners of the Carnegie Council 2007 Graphics Contest

The Carnegie Council is delighted to announce the results of the 2007 Graphics Competition.

This year's winners (in alphabetical order) are:

  • "Ice Cream Melts" by Jason Melgoza Fresno, CA (submitted by Martin Valencia, Associate Professor of Graphic Design, Department of Art & Design, California State University, Fresno). "This design was inspired by all the global warming news floating around the media," writes Jason. "I wanted people to look at this and get a sense of fear of what is happening right now. Our home is melting away like ice cream on a hot summer day.
  • "Justice" by Megan Zang Computer Graphics student at the International Academy of Design and Technology, Orlando, FL. Megan has been interested in art since the "jumbo crayon" was introduced to her as a child. Now she is pursuing art as a career and a way to express what is important to her and others through many mediums.

Each winner has received a prize of $500.

Many thanks to all those who submitted entries and to all the colleges that took part. Colleges included:
